Hi there. I am a fan of small Fiats (hence the Abarth!) but there is a Fiat 126 for sale locally just 20 miles away, and as cars for sale are pretty rare out here in the sticks, i'm just wondering if it's worth buying and restoring?

I know little about the 126 BIS, but it needs a head gasket and a few other bits and bobs for an MOT. Bodywork is apparently rust free. It has less than 40k on the clock on a G plate. Is it worth the bother? Or is it best avoided? Future classic maybe? Could do with something to tinker with over the winter. The Abarth 500 is not very tinker friendly! Any help much appreciated! I used to have a 126 BIS on a J plate, loved it to bits!
Might be worth your while looking on club126uk.co.uk (y) Very friendly guys and they offer a fair bit of advice and knowledge :)
Funnily enough i googled "126 Forum" and found that site, was just looking through the for sale section, there's some tidy little 126's on there! But the ebay auction is up in 2 days, and i'm not sure it's worth registering just to ask a few questions. We'll see though, thanks (y)

I had a red G-reg back in '93 - it is probably the best car I've ever driven, in terms of sheer fun :D:D:D and I've driven 2CVs for over twenty years!

The thermostat went, but we just added a manual switch on the dash for the fan, and the fuel pump wore out, but other than that, it was a fantastic little car The rear seats folded flat and with the hatchback opening it was perfect for the dog (y)

Go on, have a bid!

Hello,
If you have information on the Fiat 126 BIS want to Google that give time
Fiat-126.org
or

I run one as a daily and have done 3000 miles in 3-4 months , i think the more you pay ie the best you can find = less problems .

I dont think £1200 is dear, thes are allready starting to creep up in value, i paid much more for mine and have spent a fortune on it but its never broken down and will drive anywhere , which means a lot to me .

my car and its mods so far

Was wondering how many Club126uk Members were also on here ;)
