typical isnt it... fit a new sub 6x9s amp and a bee sting aerial to my 126 and that up to now reliable engine goes pop!

so heres what i know - it starts ok then pours out white smoke plugs are white and dry (no oil) head gasket ok (no milk in the sump) and the smoke doesnt smell oliy and is white (not blue as if its oil.....)

help please ... i really dont want to drive my seirra again it sucks!

the milkshake cometh..... nah im not being pervy restarted it this morning and the dipstick is covered in oily milkshaek time for a new head gasket!!! bugger!

the infamous Bis headgasket failiure! If you dont get the head skimmed it will almost certainly blow again. Also, make sure you really clean out the cooling system well, as its marginal anyhow and with oil contamination will be not too good.

hmmm thanks for the advise guys- we have a 126 specialist in norwich i think ill see how much he'll charge to do it save my self some knuckle scraping and headaches..... :(

i certainly thought about it but.... i want to fit a daihatsu mira turbo charger (660cc engine) to the bis and it'll work alot better with a water cooling and besides its no fun if something doesnt break.... any hoo- the gaskets are ordered i took the head off tonight and its off to the machine shop tomorrow to be skimmed full steam ahead for its welding work at phil shorts 126 shop on monday (well reccomended if you need help with your 126!!) :)

the gearbox can have a uno turbo engine mounted from all accounts you just have to create a retainer cage for the layshaft bearing or something.... check out the polish site fiat and the furious these phsycos bolt all sorts of things on the arse end of their 126's, as for phil short he is a freindly fiat 126 fanatic who works from a small work shop in norwich with about 15 complete 126's outside it hes a great guy call him on 07850443959 if you need help or bits (he has a land line but it escapes me...) :)

fiat uno engine was on preloved 126 forum-

hi sorry for the l8 entry guys and gals, i have a 126 trike air cooled (dont shout i didnt do it it was done years ago) that has white smoke when i strt her when she has run a while it settles a bit and slowly gets better but is still there any ideas?

is the carb open to the atmosphere sounds as if youve got lots of condensation if its going away after it warms up...either that or whats the exhausty like? doesnt point at an upward angle does it? since theres no water in the engine i cant think of much else?

no its not condensation! i think its rings or valve stems
can the valve stems be done with the head on?
