Technical Gas tank ID

I've been told this is a Fiat gas tank. The cut out in it was done later to clear a battery. I'm trying to figure out what car this came out of to try and find a replacement. Any help would be much apreciated.

Wow, that ain't exactly recent, older Fiat's aren't my strong point.

Do you have anymore details regarding which era etc it maybe comes from i.e. Spider, X/19?

if it is off an old fiat such as an X19 which going by the odd shape i would think is a good guess.
i would think since oyu need it cut and welded anyway wouldnt it be easier ot get one fabricated from scratch? just they will probably be hard to source anyway so getting one in good condition may prove tricky.

incidently whats it fitted to now?

It has to be a car from the sixties. It is out of an mid sixties Apollo. From what I have found out is a Fiat tank modified for the Apollo.
