I can't be the first one to think of this, but here goes. On an classic 124 Spider, how about using the center section of the upper dash for a double din ETR stereo (with Bluetooth, a backup camera and maybe even a CD if there's enough room). Being higher up, it would require less of the "eyes off the road" syndrome to tune the radio, and those dislocated switches could be relocated down to where the radio once was. What'cha think?
