124 Spider at Cruisin the Coast

I had a lot of fun at Cruisin the Coast on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There were 7000 antique cars with most of them muscle cars. I saw one other spidsr, a 1979 Spider 2000 with an automatic.
This is my 1978 124 Spider. It is a California car with the emissions stuff removed, a Weber 32/36 DFEV. 15" wheels with 205/50 Hankook tires, rebuilt engine, new clutch, custom leather two tone seats, and custom metallic wine red paint.

My wife liked the cruise but hated the 5 hour drive each way with no AC. For that reason I may sell the car to find a classic with AC. She likes Camaros.

Bagneaux, the car looks beautiful! Was this car a restore project? Or did you pick it up in its current condition?

Kinda both

I sold my 71 124 Spider 12 years ago to help pay for my daughter's wedding. When I retired, I wanted another one so I found this one on ebay. The PO rebuilt engine, tranny, had it painted and had new leather (real leather!) two tone upholstery. After I got it, I added the 15" wheels and 205/50R15 tires, new canvas top, Weber 32/36 DFEV carb with chrome air cleaner, new clutch cable, new Bosch 65 amp alternator, new ignition switch, Pertronix electronic ignition and coil, high performance plug wires ,leather steering wheel, new period correct look digital radio, new clock and new battery. The Abarth floor mats probably add 10 HP.

I had some cooling issues on the trip so I am installing a new radiator.
