Hello, fellow spider enthusiasts.

After a 40 year long waiting I finally bought my first 124 spider. She is almost fully restored to her former glory but I'm still missing (a lot) of parts. These are not hard to come by since I live in The Netherlands. Parts are plenty available over here and also a lot at our "neighbours", the Germans. Mostly new or new-made. The former owner has already done the bodywork and suspension. Interior is missing but I did already find a new carpet-set, new door cards and 2 leather seats.

But... there is little to none information to be found about my spider. I know she's shipped from Italy to the Netherlands in the 80's as a "basket case". It's a early 1967 124AS spider with chassis-number 0000333. Original license-plate reads MI-W76737 which is Milan-area. The original 1400 cc. engine is replaced by a 1800 cc., engine-number 132 A1 0315*0478988*. The 1400 was damaged beyond repair as the former owner told me. The heating controls are directly under the dash and not in the console as later models have. So, there you have it, that's all I know.

Who can/will tell me more about my particular spider? I am very curious is there is somebody out here who has some more info. It would also be a great help if someone can post a picture of the inner part of the fuel-filler cover. I'm complete lost about how to fix the cover spring. As it is a early series there has to be a very small (round) spring to be mounted on the cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated and a lot of thanks in advance.

In the meantime I got a picture about how to fit the spring onto the cover. Seems easy enough, doesn't it... Now I have to do the fix on my own spider. I have a feeling that it will not be as easy as it seems though.:shakehead:
Here is a photo of how it should be. Maybe sometime it will come in handy for someone.
