Hi all I’m new to this I recently came across some 124 parts that were stickers up as abarth but can not find anything like them on the web would appreciate some help identifying them the year was a 1972 and the reg is cdc860k thanks in advance

I'm not sure what you're asking about. Are you thinking of buying some parts and don't know if they're from a genuine 124 Abarth?

As I'm in Ireland I can't help you identify if this car is an Abarth from the reg. no.

All I can suggest is maybe contacting the guys at www.dtrsports.com who might be able to help. This Co. imported, restored and sold many 124 Spiders some years ago (they've since gone upmarket afaik), might even know the car in question or could advise what to look for. I've heard that there are some 124 Abarth clones/lookalikes around, so caution is needed.

There's also a book "Fiat & Abarth 124 Spider & Coupe" by John Tipler, that you might consult (ISBN 1-874105-09-X). This book details the many differences between the 124Spider and Spider Abarth

Hi thanks for getting back to me I work in a scrap yard and came across these parts and some owners manuals with the scorpion logo on them but can not find anything else like them so just want to find out if these are real abarth or made to look like thanks

You say that your parts came from a 1972 124 Abarth. This was a special 'homologation' version (i.e. a certain no. had to be built in order to compete in certain forms of motorsport). It differed from the standard 124 Spider in many ways. If you have any of the parts from a 1972 car that are different from the standard Spider, they could be worth significant money to a collector, same with the manuals (as you probably know Abarth used a Scorpion as it's symbol).

I worked on some of these cars back in the day, so might be able to help you distinguish between 124 Spider and 124 Abarth parts.

Care to list or post pics of the parts you have?

Al.
