Hi, I am desperate for help on my 1981 Fiat Spider.
This problem has been a torn for me for the past 2 years, I have done what other suggested but my car still runs like crap.

Currently, my car run is running 2 cylinders 3&4. The cylinder 1&2 seem not working. Compression has been done on all cylinders and they are all okay. I also replaced the heat sensor located at the "T" of the radiator. But every time I remove the connector on the "T" all four cylinders seems to be running okay. How do I know this? Well I remove sparkplug cable and the idle changes. But if I have the wire connected to the "T" and remove the sparkplug wires on cylinder 1&2 the idle of the car does not change. I check the wire with my multi meter and I'm getting about 13Volts.

If I remove the wire connected to the "T" and try to run the car that way, the car intends to die out on me. But if I keep it on the car runs okay but its only running on two cylinder.

I hope I have explain in detail the problem of my car. Someone please help. With your kindness I will give you the BEST wine NAPA VALLEY or SONOMA Wine country could offer if your out side the bay area or out of state of California. If you're in the bay area, a couple of movie tickets as a small token my appreciation...

Regards,
Ron J

you have an earthing problem.look at the distributor and the coil.the low tension lead could be breaking down or you have a main earth connection[to body] problem.also, try earthing the engine and see if that improves things.change the distributor cap if fine lines inside[could be tracking].check king plug[lead from coil to distributor].first thing is low tension lead and earth points.and try swapping plug leads over from good one to bad one to eliminate the lead.personally,i think you asking on the wrong furum.join the sporting fiat club furum.plenty of 124 owners on there and me of course!!
btw, been to napa valley.stayed at the best westen in santa rosa.lovely area.
andy.
