Hello! I am completely new to the Fiat world and don't know a ton of about cars. My husband and I are looking for a fun spring/summer/fall car and found a 1979 Fiat 124 spider for sale with 96K miles on it.
The man selling the car has done the following to it in his 9 years of ownership:
new top, clutch, front suspension, springs, shocks, master cylinder, brake calipers, rebuilt distributor, seat covers, upgraded carburetor, upgraded intake manifold, upgraded exhaust manifold, 14" aluminum wheels, front spoiler.
He said it has some surface rust on the cross member.
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about Fiats and have been told by friends to just get an old BMW convertible. Thoughts?
