Hello everyone,

I'm new to this site and I joined Becase I am the proud new owners of a 72 850 spider. The car needs some work, I'll have pictures of it up soon enough, but it seems to be mostly rust free with only a little bit of cancer on the floorboards caused by a leaky windshield.

Normally, I'm not one to join forums, but my plan is to do a full restification on this car starting at the end of this month. And I'll be honest, I have no idea where to get any parts for the car, nor do I know much about the car. Other than I've wanted something like this car for as long as i can remember.

The plan for the car is to do a full tear down and rebuild, keeping the exterior and interior relatively stock while attempting to modernize the suspension, breaks, wiring, and engine. Originally when I first saw it for sale I thought maybe an engine transaxle unit from a civic or something would fit nicely. But I had no idea how small these things were.

Basically, I'm putting a feeler out there to see if anyone has done the same so I'm not completely in the dark on this project. Basically I'm aiming for a reliable car with 80-100 HP and no or very little extra weight.

Any help or encouragement greatly appreciated. Oh, I'm also up in Canada, so i'm not sure how much harder it is for us Canucks to get parts for these.

Cheers, pat

Hello,

Try Mr.Fiat.com and RioCambio.co.uk. They have some good inventory of 850 parts. I also have 3 cars, with lots of parts. Let me know if you need anything.

Thanks,

Joey Cahill
