Greetings from America! I recently purchased a 1980 Spider and would like to swap out the radio for a CD/MP3 player. I can't seem to find instructions online on removing the old radio, and so was wondering if anyone could give me a little guidance. Thanks!!

usually you just have to remove the paneling around the radio then the mount will unscrew and come right out, shouldnt be to hard to do.

I think you have to remove the upper console to get to it. There are four screws holding the console in place - two on each side at the bottom.

you do not have to remove the console. pull the knobs off the radio and take the little bolts that hold the faceplate on. the tricky party about putting a new radio will be the wiring. your old radio only has 1 power lead. your new radio will have 2 power leads. one that stays on when the car is off. that is so the radio can save your presets and what not. the other one is an ignition switch. you will need to splice the wire from your cigarette adapter and run it to the radio. other than that... the speaker wires and all should hook right back up.
