I not only still have the gurgling noise, (see my previous post), but when the engines gets warmed up it begins to knock somewhere in the area of the number one exhaust valve.
I just finished pulling the oil pan off and cleaned it. I did not find any metal, just a little sludge in the bottom. I removed oil pump and cleaned and checked it. It seems to be okay.
The car starts easily and idles okay, revs up with no problem other than the gurgling and knocking noise when it's warmed up. I tried it three days in a row with the same results so I know it's not a random event. Could the oil pump be just parially working and when oil is warmed up and thinned out the pump won't work?

Hi.
".....knock somewhere in the area of the number one exhaust valve"
Have you checked your valve clearances?
