When I got my 81 FI spyder about two years ago it had 26,000 miles on it and in great shape. I did notice that what I now know as rear lower traling arms, had a small kink on the bottom of each arm. I didn't know they were hollow tubes and it drove fine untill it started to get squirlly and I found that the one of the armes had a major kink that from being bent back and forth was 3/4 cut through. I have two new ones and other than not tighting the bolts all the way untill it is off the jacks, is there any thing I should know before I crawl under and try to change them myself.
