General brake light prob

hey all , got somthin grounding out or somthing , when i step on the brake the left side brake light comes on but the right is out but when the left blinker is on and i step on the brake the right side brake light comes on and the left is out ??????????? im pretty handy with a wrench but allmost helpless with a test light, just was wondering if anybody has come across anything like this ive replaced all the bulbs in the back and just wanted to post first and hopefully get some feedback befor i dove into it ...

What model year is your Spider? Later models had the bulbs mounted in a circuit board that had a common ground for both left and right sides.

thanks for posting G , its a 1977 spider 124 it was funny , when i went to replace the lights , they wernt just the regular pigtails that twist into the lenses you take the lens cover off and the pigtails are all inclosed in one unit, a circut board maybe ? are they pretty pricey to replace if i need too do so ???? would like to save em if i can .............. its my first fiat so i think id better get a book on em seems im gona need it.. lol ..
