What do you think of the new 124?

I sat in one at my local Fiat dealership, beautiful car inside and out. Something I'd love to own!!! Who wouldn't?!

I think it looks much nicer than the MX-5, though I like the MX-5 as it is too. One thing I couldn't ignore was the flat cheap plastic sun visor!!!

If you've sat in one or drove one, what did you think?

Test driving next Tuesday......yes the sun visors are awful and an obvious upgrade fiat could have made at close to zero cost.....

drove one yesterday, well impressed.driving position and the reach to the gear lever is perfect.for 140hp goes really well.needless to say ive put my name on the demo when their done with it.Lusso spec with 3k knocked of it.

Drove a Lusso Plus today. Well impressed. Comfortable, fast and rides well on our rubbish roads.
Gripes: lack of a proper glove box, no room at all behind the seats (even to sling a coat), some dodgy centre console trim in the footwell and very cheap looking sun visors.....

Hi, I've just ordered a 124 spider lusso (moreover, my brother has ordered another one for himself). I had some doubts and in fact I checked several options (Miata, 370 Z roadster and BMW Z4) but after 2 tests of the FIAT I was absolutely convinced that it has the best ratio performance-quality/cost. It's an incredible car, apart from the aesthetic point of view (I think FIAT has been very intelligent with tis car) the motor is nice, with full power from low rpm, very quick and noble, you always know where are your back wheels (my last 2 cars have been 4-seats convertibles ranging from 135 to 160 CV) and, moreover, I think the quality is better than Mazda model, that shows some details I don't understand in a 30 k€ car as nude metal in the boot. The Italian is, at least for me, much better finished in such small details. Of course, I agree that sun visors are...well...they shouldn't be as they are but it's a minor fail. The engine is full of power since low rpm and in a recent test in Spain, it gave 155 CV! lowering 0-100 acceleration to 7, 23". In summary, it's elegant, quick, sportive, funny and easy to drive.

I hope this might help you. Now I'm waiting for mine (because the waiting time is up to 9 months!)

Best regards

Very tempted by this for my mid-life crisis car. My wife wants to keep the Kuga she's had for 18months and I'd miss my Giulietta but replacing the Multipla with it would not be sensible.

Saw one on the road (A14) for the first time today. Dark metallic grey. Looks better in the metal than in the pics, IMHO - lower, and neater. I still prefer the MX5 though.

*ducks for cover*
