hi. on inpection my exhaust manifold has some small cracks and there is signs of leakage.

Can these cracks in cast metal be welded? Or should I not bother. I have a MIG.

cast can be welded but its a specialist job from what i have seen.where are you situated?

just wondered as forum member arc got a couple of manifolds welded up for a turbo conversion so perhaps oyu could use the same place he did

You really aren't having much luck with that car!

Cracked manifolds are pretty rare on an X1/9 thanks to the way they are mounted, the normal problem is the studs get bent where the exhaust mounts.

Don't weld them up unless you absolutely have to - it simply isn't worth it
