Hi all,
I've recently started on an x19 project '84 vs bright yellow thing.
Managed to bypass the imobilisor and got it turning over on the starter, but have found little compression on all but one cylinder.

Having started to strip the engine to down to look at the head gasket I've discovered that I can't turn the engine by hand, not even with a large breaker bar on the crankshaft pully bolt.

What do you think would be the first thing to check?

Any thoughts/discussion most welcome

Nat

Sounds like lots of bent valves...
I think you should take the head off first, then leave the pistons soaking in WD40 until you can turn the engine over by hand. Or, the reason for the seizure will be evident when you get the head off.

Getting the head off may be made even easier by the condition of the cambelt? ;)
