Originals had 13" wheels and that's personally what I would go for, to get the correct period look. Tyre sizes perhaps more limited though.

It also recommends 15" front wheels and 16" rear for racing.

I'm going with the 15 because here in Canada 13-14 are very rare and the bolt pattern 4X98 ho.ho.ho
if I take the 15 of the Fiat 500 abarth maybe I can do something with that
Here it's the only car with this bolt pattern

Reading one of the above links - some early BMW 3 series had 4x99 and they apparently fit. I have never hear of this before!
How much does it cost to get wheels shipped from Europe?
I know its expensive to get small things posted from North America to Europe?

13's are getting less common here but luckerly we have the cheapo Korean cars which still used them fairly recently

I guess custom wheels cost a bomb anyway.

I Think I found a solution
I'm gone have to buy spacer adaptor 2in width and 4 x 98 center bore 58.1 to 4 x 100 center bore 57.1
buy mag 15 po X 7 with bolt partern 4 x 100 with 0 ET(offset)
so with this set up for the rear my tire gone exceed my fender for about 3.5 inc each side

sounds good!
