Hello all,

I seem to be having a problem with the gear box of my X1/9.
The car has been stored in a garage for 10 yrs, always in neutral and I thought lets get in on the road.
So far I've changed the oil, filters and plugs. I cleaned the points put it into gear to open them up for checking the gap and pushed.
Unfortunately I pushed it for yards.
I think it might be stuck in neutral, I've checked the gear stick connection, (which was suggested by a member of the X1/9 owners club) and everythings fine there.
I also think the slave cylinder is leaking as no pressure under the pedal and fluid on the bell housing, I mention this in case they might be linked.
Although I would have thought I could still push it into gear.

Anyone any suggestions?
I think its a garage job as I can't change the clutch, no room, or time.
Can anyone suggest a garage in the Telford area, or near by?

Regards

Simon

Hi Simon,and welcome(back):)

to rule out clutch issue/s

when you try and select a gear.. is there any difference in feel..??
( gear lever LESS floppy..)

have you tried EVERY gear.. even reverse..??,

does the clutch action feel o.k.? initial slack bit then the resistance.

re - a garage.. I'll link you the contact details of Telford locals on here.
