Help please,
Just tried to fit a decent radio, the one that came with it was still in the box, no wonder, the slot is 184X58, DIN size is 180X50, has anyone a simple solution or must I start building up the slot to get the mounting plate to fit securely. Have the dash out to get at the wiring loom, found the feed to the dash lights was broken, wire was totally seperated where the loom is attached to the front bulkhead.Soldered wire and heat shrink insulation then, now they work. next job is to get the speedo to run quietly, OK when run with a drill but ticks when connected any ideas, thanks in ad:mad:vance

Hi Tony,

Haven't spoken for a while so - happy new year!

I removed the old radio from the 1979 and it was one of the pre DIN units, I had the same problem as you. The old radio had an insert and surround so I am going to cut that down to DIN size. Think you might have to do the same.

Hi Mike,
Many happy returns, I would cut it down to size if I had one, the space is too big in my one to fit the cage, I need to build up the surround etc, an ideas?
