| Clutch spring So I'm about to intall a new clutch slave and I find that the return spring(?) for the clutch is missing. Is that it's true name? Does anyone know if there is a generic replacement, or where to find a new one, preferably in the US? (No wonder shifting and staying gear is unpredictable!) Thanks...

| Re: Clutch spring Same thing happen to me. I went to ACE Hardware and bought a handful of different sizes and tensions for about $10 or so. You don't want it too tight or too weak. For me, it was trial & error. I'm not a mechanic, but learning because...well...I own an X1/9. Others on this forum may have better advice, but this worked for me. Good Luck!

| Re: Clutch spring A good suggestion, especially since you've tried it and it works! Thanks very much. We have a new Ace right here in town so I'll trot on down and see what I kind find.
