It was the second time that I call RAC to changed Fan belt within two months. The guy said that the alternator might be the belt killer--It might not be the original one for my car.

Shall I change the alternator? (RAC would not help me to change fan belt anymore if the alternator is not replaced.)

Anybody knows what the part number/model/type of the alternator/fan belt is for my 1994 FIAT UNO 60D, 1697cc Diesel? How much it would be?

I have a similar vehicle and have recently had to change the alternator as it was worn out. I did it through a local auto electricians who were very knowledgable and had all the numbers at their disposal. They did a good rebuild for £50 which I thought was OK

I live in Hertfordshire area and the company was Autolex, Stevenage. I am sure they will be in the yellow pages. I hope this helps
