Thumbs up New MOT!

Just took the old Uno for its MOT and it flew through, a first for any of my cars! and I hadn't even bothered to do any work beforehand... Not bad for 187,000 miles (301,000km), is this the highest mileage Uno on here?

Gonna have to sort out the clutch now and maybe have a go at the rust eating the doors....

Re: New MOT!

unfortunately not...its a bog standard 45 fire. It has had a replacement engine which is on about 100,000, but the i still have the old one which is still fine, just wanted a 5th gear! still on the lookout for a decent turbo though, they're a bit rare in these parts and havent seen one for years...

Re: New MOT!

I know of a whole mk1 uno turbo, then shell is rotten as but the engine and box was avantie tuned.
He wants around the 200 quid mark for it which would make a pucka trasplant for your uno.
Or i have a loom and ecu and engine and box all are good and open to offers?
Where is it you live i see it says devon ne where near me....

Re: New MOT!

Greetings totnes, from sunny kingsbridge just down the road

My uno has gone thru most of it's mot's from 3 yrs old (family owned from new) with flying colours, the last 2 with nothing at all, pretty good for a k - reg. Just hope it does the same again this november

Ahh, the rusty door prob, not very good rust proofing inside the doors, I do all 4 of mine every year with waxoyl

Right off to do some more pre-winter preps

Jay

Re: New MOT!

My 20 year old Uno passed the last three MOT's with no problems at all! Only just hit 92K, so it's quite low mileage for its age.

However, I don't think it will fare so well at the next MOT in November as it has some rust coming up on the strut mountings But I'm going to take it off the road then and switch to my Punto, then do some light restoration and modifying to the Uno
