Re: Uno Turbo oil pressure.....

Halfway up the gauge (3.5-4.5 bar with engine running at 3000RPM cold).

But this is making the big assumption that the gauge electrical sender is not faulty! They don't seem to fail very often on the Uno Turbo, but are a common failure on other Italian cars. If confronted with a low reading, I wouldn't automatically suspect the engine. Even if the reading seems to vary widely between idle and running, I still wouldn't suspect the engine.

I don't believe that oil pressure is a big issue with these engines. I think, if the gauge reading was low, you would be better listening for knocks/noises (rare) and looking carefully in the cambox with a torch (flashlight) to judge the cleanliness of the engine (also the dipstick, though this is more easily cleaned!) An engine that is not blackened inside is more likely to have enjoyed regular oil changes, and less likely (read: very unlikely) to have oil pump problems.

Just my $0.02.
