| 200 km/h is maybe the the topspeed for a close to original uno, but if you raise the boost and get rid of the rpm limit (6700rpm) You will make a lot more..

| Just out of curiosity, how many rpms are you doing at 200 km/h? How much boost is your turbo producing at that speed at full throttle? Note that the mk1 Uno was never a good friend of the wind tunnel, which can be easily seen by noticing the brick-like (but very solid looking and overall appealing IMHO) shape so why don't you go with the cars natural characteristics and take advantage of its superb sprinting ability instead of trying to get it to do what he wasn't projected to do in the 1st place? If you insist on trying to make it go faster, I don't really know how tall is the standard gearing, but I'm almost sure that at those speeds you're already on the descending part of your engines power curve, so you either start thinking about making it breathe better on the higher revs (hybrid turbo, head work, cams...) or try to find a compatible gearbox with taller ratios. Oh, and I don't think I should comment the "ass tearing" issue :D Goncalo D.

The mk2 Uno was slightly more aerodynamic, but not by much. I think they got it down to 0.33 with the redesigned front and the tailgate. It was the low drag CD that enabled the Uno to achieve good fuel economy and good performance from not much power. Don't forget as well with aerodynamics, it's often the shape that doesn't look like it will work that is the best. I remember how it was often stated in physics that a bullet from a gun would actually travel faster if it went backwards. However, the mk1 Uno has such a cool 'chunky' shape

| Re: max speed of Uno Turbo MK1 1.3 You have 2 problems. The engine simply does not have enough power. And, the faster you go in 5th gear the less power the engine is making as its it reving well above its peak power point. you need an engine that can make more torque at the higher RPM you need to go faster.

| Re: max speed of Uno Turbo MK1 1.3 Couple things I've noticed. My Uno only does like .6-.07 bar - I've had it up to 210 (just). So i would have thought the one afore mentioned would get more than 200 running extra boost. And the other thing, someone said something about an RPM limit?? As in a rev limiter. Do Mrk1s have this. Cause mines completely untouched, but I've had it out to almost 8K on more than one occasion. Which brings a further question - what will they do happily without blowing up?

| Re: max speed of Uno Turbo MK1 1.3 Mk1 turbos dont have rev limiters in NZ. 7K is ok. If you rev it more it probably wont blow up but its going to be stressing the engine a whole lot more. i.e. less reliability. Standard Uno turbo will do 200K. A few extra mods, more boost etc will still only get you around 200k. But it will get you there faster. Problem is matching the power of the engine to the gear ratios. You could have 200BHP at 4000RPM but you may still only do 200K top speed as all the power is gone at 6000. Its very difficult to get an Uno to make good power at high 6000+ RPM.

Stupid sync on third is totally non existant. Right royal pain in the backside, and I don't like letting anyone drive it because of that, they crunch and grind it badly. Actually, I hate anyone driving it regardless, but thats especially more so.And its good to know I won't blow it up lol. I'll just keep the oil changes up and she'll be right.
