Re: 2.0 Twinkie Uno???

Stick in a turbo instead, much lighter and powerful in such a small car....

Re: 2.0 Twinkie Uno???

There was a guy who posted on here a while back, GTA from South Africa, who managed to squeeze in a 2.0 litre turbo engine into a mk2 Uno

Anything will go in if you've got the time and money. I don't think the 2.0 litre Fiat engine is an easy swap though.

There have also been posts of people fitting the 1.6 Lancia Delta turbo engine into a Uno. Plus there was a link a while back of someone who transplanted the engine AND 4 wheel drive system from a Delta Integrale into a Lancia Y10! That probably cost a small mortgage to do though, and required huge amounts of fabricated parts.

As has already been mentioned, your best bet is the 1.3/ 1.4 Uno turbo engine as it's a nuts and bolts swap (make sure you uprate the suspension and brakes to turbo spec as well though...)

Or was your Tipo a 2.0 litre and now you have a spare engine looking for a home?

Re: 2.0 Twinkie Uno???

isnt it possible to use the bottom end from the tipo 1.6 and use the mk2 uno turbo head on it to make a 1.6 turbo?

Re: 2.0 Twinkie Uno???

IF you want to go down that route (not my personal fav but each to there own)

Check out:

www.greekdragster.com (look on the left and thru the photos for a blue mk2 uno, 1600 Delta lump in it)

http://www.avanti-motorsport.co.uk/

I have seen a 2.2 lancia turbo lump in a mk2 on the TURBO COLLECTIVE (type in google search) photo section

it can be done tho!

Re: 2.0 Twinkie Uno???

as already said the 2.0 16v would be a squeez, if you wanna widen the car by about a foot you could go for the 2.0 20v now that would be a monster...

Re: 2.0 Twinkie Uno???

If you are after something diffrent then yeah have ago mate no harm in trying but if you weighted both 1.4 and 2.0 engines then the bigger size and turbo if it has one will be canceld out by the extra weight and the issuses that will cause

For instance, theres a rapid 2.0 REDTOP corsa round my way, its just bounces all over the place because of the extra weight over the front wheels!

Fast as **** but nothing that cant be beat!

Re: 2.0 Twinkie Uno???

I was thinking about fitting 2.0 16V DOHC from Tipo, but it would be hard swap, need lot of time and money, like all the people said 1.3 or 1.4 T would be better choice...
after all it's up to u and u like better...
keep safe
