Mid-summer Rally

Been out rallying again :-

Wow what a tough 24 hours, that was real endurance !!!!

The day selectifs were good fun and we soon got into the groove and setting some half decent times.

Was a little nervous of the night route due to what happened on last years event (driving into a tree at 70mph), however it was great fun the whites were rough in places but great fun we were flying down them. However so was the other Uno which dicided to try and mount us whilst we were waiting in a queue for a manned PC. This dented the boot and smashed the OS rear lense.
Then at the TC before petrol we got a puncture and then found out that we couldn't open the boot, so we had to borrow a hammer (thanks Neil) to smash the boot window to get the spare out.
This meant spending the whole petrol break removing glass from the boot and changing tyres. Plus the all the whites meant the car and us were covered in dust
Also lost another 5 mins when the boot opened on a 'green' section so i had to make use of lots of tank tape to secure it.

Then on the 2nd to last selectif we had steam coming out of the bonnet, but we carried on with the tamp gauge almost in the red zone. This was due to a) the fan not working and b) lossing 2 litres of water.
We allowed the engine to cool down whilst trying to push the other Uno out of the hedge.
Came back put loads of water in, heaters on full blast and finsihed

Many thanks to all the CMC team for yet another quality event, Andy for standing in those silly places (looking forward to seeing the yump pic !!!) Finally to the marshals and Mr Leadfoot for telling me where to go all day long.
