I have a few that will not shift for love nor money. The 19mm hex socket i am using seems to slip sideways off a few of em. ANy tips on how to get em out would be appreciated.. maybe hammering an 18mm socket on? I can get some replacement ones no problem but i need to get these out first. Where is Popeye when u need him :D

Have you got a half tame tyre fitter near you?

They were probably put on with an air driven tool, one might loosen them for you. Would take them seconds to do.

Nice idea but sadly i need the wheels off to try and bleed the brakes cos i have no pressure in the pedal at all.. so it has to be done here or towed to a garage...

try 6 sided socket and a good long power bar .
tap the nut's with a small hammer.
spray with wd40.
and then try to remove the nut's

Try and brace the ratchet or whatever you are using so that it stays parallel with the wheel nut when you are trying to loosen it. The way I get hub nuts off is using a 2' torque wrench and a short extension bar, resting the head of the wrench on a big block of wood so it can't move and I can put my whole weight on the other end of it. Something similar might work for you.

Might sound daft, but if the nut starts to round off, sometimes you can get it away by actually tightening it a smidge first, just to get it moving.
