new forum for Uno?

The Uno message board has the highest number of topics and the second highest number of posts in the "other" section. We beat the Marea section at least in both ways (total topics etc.) so do you think we should ask in "site ideas" for our own section rather than being in "other"? I think our Uno's deserve it!

Regards
Paul

Nothing quite like as good as yours. It is a M-reg Mk2 Uno 1.0ie start (monopoint injection) 999cc, all of 45 tired horses! - In a rather fetching fire engine red with picnic style seats to match. I was 17 (now 18) when I got it for getting to and from sixth form and hence anything more would have killed me on insurance. I love it though, like all people love their first car.

I haven't gone down the mods direction, too high a cost to my insurance and my wallet in the first place. I have fitted a JVC KD-SX992R CD player and some cheapo 6by9s in the rear shelf. I have got it in perfect condition now (having a spare Uno for parts etc.) so I am happy with it.

I see you can do the 1/4 mile in 14.63 seconds. Reverse yoru figures and that would probably be mine: time: 94.57 seconds @ 14.63mph! Oh yeah!

One day I hope to have a little bit better but that will have to wait until after uni.

Again, nice looking car you have, I especially like the abarth scorpian at the front!

Regards
Paul

Exactly, not much else you can get for £300 and a bit of work.

If i saw that out of the rear of my car I would firstly need a change of underwear then a swift call to the firebrigade! LOL.

Regards and hope you enjoy the forum, it is a good place to share Fiat stuff.

how did u get it to flame out the back mate cos im getting a new exhaust and i think that would really look good coming out of a 1.0ie uno in metalic blue dont ya think!

mine does 0-60 in 16secs but i cant get to 90 on a flat road it has to be down hill then it takes like 3mins or summat like that!

gotta love the uno's

its a flamer kit mate which u attach to ur aftermarket exhaust (has to be aftermarket for it to fit). simple to make or u can buy one. as for it working on a 1.0 uno i don't think it will. flamer kits work best on turbo'd cars cos they use alot of fuel and on let off of the accelerator unburnt fuel exits out of the exhaust and the flamer kit ignights it. on naturally aspirated cars (unturbo'd) especially low powered car ones, not enough unburnt fuel exits the exhaust for it to ignight.

mine does 0-60 in about 6 secs, maybe less depending on traction, but around 6 secs sounds right and if u leave it to rev it will bounce off the rev limiter in 5th at approx 145mph :D

and ur right.......gotta love the unos!!!!

Are you serious with those speeds?! For a little Uno?! That's pretty good!

I thought you could get "flamer kits" using a separate cannister of butane/propane? I am no expert - knowing zilch about "mods" - but I am sure I have heard that somewhere.

"spamor", your preformance looks the same as mine, and to get to 60 needs a heavy foot, i just love going down hills! Except going back up on the other side usually makes my speedo go down sharpish!

yeah i'm serious. doesn't like reving up to the limiter in 5th so don't really do it hehe
u can get flamers kits with a cannister of butane/propane but u need to keep re filling em (and its cheating lol). the flamer i got works off my unburnt fuel (and no its not overfueling lol)

to get mine that quick i got a few choise mods under the bonnet tho.......

hybrid T2 turbo
lightened/balanced flywheel
polised/ported/skimmed head
larger forged pistons
race spec head gasket
arbath steel billet cam
piper vernier pulley
piper cam belt
large front mounted intercooler
black diamond race clutch
spitfire plugs and leads
dump valve
samco hoses
full stainless scorpion exhaust
induction kit
adjustable boost set to 10 psi boost
race spec fuel pump

few mods to come....

FSE boost valve
5th injector
saab 9000 injectors
unichip mapped to my mods
larger T28 hybrid turbo
more boost

well thats all i can think of in the engine mods department :p

Well I was intending to add the standard clock which is missing off the START 1.0, that is a big luxury to me LOL

Why do you want a fifth injector? Any idea what bhp you get from that? You must have spent thousands!
