Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a radio for my Mk1 Uno, and am currently trying to fit it. I removed the plastic backing plate beneath the heater, which is just a pocket really, because thats where I've seen every other radio go. Currently, I removed it and am left with a big space which is useless because the radio just slips right through.

How do I fit the head unit into the gap? I only have the head unit, no brackets or sleeves or anything.

Cheers

Radios are normally fitted into a metal cage. The cage has tabs that are bent outwards to hold it in place, then the radio has sprung tabs at the sides to click into the cage. Special tools are then needed to remove it, although these are readily available and simple.

Start with looking for a manual online, usually from the manufacturer website. As well as telling you all about the radio functions, there should be a section about installation. Replacement cages are readily available in the UK, so I'd expect them to be so with you too.

If still struggling, tell us the radio model number, we might be able to point you to the correct download.

The manual will also help you identify the correct wiring.
