Hey up.just bought a mk1 uno turbo onyx firecat kit car on eBay as wàs looking for parts for k10uno .it's quick because even less weight than a uno with a tubular chassis.it's bushes have gone on gearchange so it's lots luck and syncro has gone in 3.I was told by prev owner it is a early one so it has a fiat strada gearbox.I've found one on eBay but can anyone confirm.
Many thanks
Piers

have you SEARCHED the old onyx threads..??;)

Strada type gear box has gear linkages that run under the car into the bottom of the gearbox where as the later tippo type is a top change. later type linkage goes above the floor and through the firewall :D

It's wasy to spot the difference when you know how ;)

Not sure if it's a streight swap on the strada box - don't know if the strada had wet cups where all Uno turbos were dry cups with a dalf shaft to O/S IIR.

the later type were said to be stronger and I believe the main thing is the half shaft would also be needed from a later top change type.

Input shaft has a different nu mber of splines but you wouldn't want too reuse an old clutch anyway.

Believe the Punto GT is similar with an even bigger clutch - maybe need the GT flywheel too.

Oh as the the top change linkage I've been told the bravo Tjet linkage fits the top change box and is better then trying to fix the top change linkage for rose joints and stuff. No idea about taking up slack on the early box.
