Hi
I've got a turbo cluster to my MK1 45
Could anyone help me which pin should I connect a wire from the (-) coil in order to get rpm reading?

Also, I've got it all working (the cluster) but it won't light up.
What lights up this cluster? the 3 upper bulbs?
I've checked and I get no 12V from that blue circuit when I turn on the lights
(Lights of the car are working and also the lights in the check panel).

Thanks

Ok I got the rev working by connecting it to this pin.

I still can't find a reason why it won't light up

Sure you've checked the obvious... the little (T5?) bulbs themselves.

Check the resistance between the strip where the bulbs are and the main circuit board.

I've seen these go open circuit as they are a bit flimzey :)

Think I could see the break without having to test resistance. Quite simple to jumper the gap.

How did you do all of this?

I've got a 45 at the moment, and would love to do this. Do they just plug and play? I haven't stripped the cluster yet so haven't had a look at anything. I assume you will have to add fuses and etc.?

Any info would be AMAZING.

Cheers

Just seen your signature, and I wanted to say - stick with it, 45s are fantastic cars. I owned a 70S new, a 45S for about 5 years, and I've just bought a 60S. The 70S felt fast, but probably too fast for the chassis. But the 45 felt fine as long as it wasn't full up (they are so light that you can virtually halve the power to weight ratio by loading them). Really, though, you just have to clog it - if it doesn't feel fast enough you aren't revving it hard enough!
