Gearbox is out on it's the mother of all jobs (for me).
Core you caught me right as I didn't fully study your blog. However both selectors in your picture are for a c514 whereas mine is different. Later on I will post pictures of the apocalyptic gearbox.
Now I need to start thinking of sourcing parts :)
 
In theory, all you`ll need is a replacement gearbox casing & a diff, thats assuming nothing else got wrecked while there were broken bits of whatever spinning around inside..

Its obviously infinitely easier to locate a complete box & swap it rather than start dismantling & repairing it, in fact its probably marginally easier to fit the later C514 box & change mech, & they should be much easier to find, but thats up to you & Core!

Any Mk1/MK2 Fiat Punto box (C514) should fit. I've sourced a few this past year and they are easy enough (and cheap enough) to get hold of. The trick will be to modify the gear mechanism.
