Hi, here's my Nouva UNO!

28,000 miles, needs a good polish and replacement door. The door was damaged during a break in. I love this little car and it will be my daily once I've got the front brakes sorted out.

Anyone have/know where I can get a door/doorskin to get this up to spec?

Lovely rare? brown plastic interior, I could do with a glove box lid too!

Just a few blemishes and tiny rust spots but nothing serious, underneath is in great condition.

Would appreciate any help sourcing the bits to make this car great again, I plan to give the 45 a good polish over Easter and remove the car phone kit.

Cheers John

Go to ebay, type in fiat uno (all categories),you'll see an uno wing wirror for sale by a photo of a complete car being broken at 'eastlancsbreakersyard'. Think it may be near you.

I think East Lancs Fiat Breakers is in Warrington, no?

Sorry to mislead anyone. The guy on ebay is called 'eastcoastcarspares2015', not much difference lol

I've tried the ebay breakers and the doors are gone already.

I may just have to have a rattle can made up and do what I can for now.

Annoyingly the drivers side glass has been replaced and is a green tint instead of clear, wondered what on earth was going on with my vision when I first drove it.

Hopefully I'll get the sticky brakes done before Easter so I can give it a once over with some polish.

Will keep checking ebay and spares websites for doors though.

Cute car... but why's the dog looking so sad? (n):(

Love the cheapo doorhandle arrangement on the 3-doors (and Pandas) !

Anyway the door mirror looks like a Tipo one, but it may be smaller or have a different plastic corner piece.

But considering the car is 25 / 26 years old it seems great.

She always looks like that except when walkies or food are imminent!

I've lost count of the times I've tried to push the none existent button to open the door and those mirrors look similar to panda/cinq ones.

I'm amazed at how solid it is though and drives nicely too.

Hoping for a warm weekend to get polishing!

Nice, that! How about a whole car shot? Always amazes me how ex-red-now-pink cars can be brought back to life!

Yep, just waiting for the Bank holiday weather to give way to "back to work on Tuesday glorious sunshine"!

not noticed a non-black dash for years,
my old Regata's were the same BROWN 85S weekend,
and light BLUE like Palios Strada - also a 70

IF I see a door or bits next weekend in Oxford FIAT Heaven... I'll let you know,

Charlie

Yes the Strada is blue, and the 127 Palio is blue (everywhere!). The Uno 70SL is brown. It makes finding trim very hard!

You have virtually an identical model to mine. Rosso Corsa, 1989 Uno Fire 45 3 door. Brown interior. Cloth seats.
Had it for over 10 years. It has over 87,000 miles on it now. Bought it with 34,000 miles from a fella who privately imported it into Australia from the UK and then left it behind when he returned. I can't bear to part with it. It's been reliable little car from day one. NEVER let me down. Uses bugger all fuel. Feels solid on the road and I prefer to drive it everyday than my Grande Punto.
During my ownership I've done the brakes twice, a water pump, 2 timing belts and apart from its usual 10,000 mile service thats pretty much it. Just fuel it up every 190 miles. Uses no oil. The only tiny issue I have with it is it takes forever to warm up and some minor oil leaks from the cam cover but I can live with that.
In the 13 years that I've owned it (longest car I've owned) I have to admit its been more loyal to me than my wife.......
Its pink now, but I've polished it several times but the harsh aussie sun just destroys the paint. It lives outside, and starts first time in every condition. It just does what its asked to do. No complaints - ever. I love it. Everything still works on it as it should and no rust.
Who said Fiats were unreliable. (...and BTW....I drive it hard)

Due to a council mandated fleet reduction (don't ask!) The New Uno is up for sale.

I'd like £450 for it, it's had a lot of work done on the brakes and most of the system has been replaced, calipers, flex and pads and discs and some lines too.

Drives brilliantly and very capable even at motorway speeds despite being a 999cc on a carb with a 4 speed box.

Ideally I'd like it to go to a forumer even if they just want it to reshell a rotten turbo!

Private messaging me will ping my email, as I don't get on here very often these days.

Such a shame I can't keep it, obviously I can't entertain swaps due to the "loss" of my driveway parking spaces.

Available to view and drive at my home in Halifax hx3.

Quick and maybe 'final' update.

Last weekend we drove the Uno maybe further, faster and for longer than it has ever been before. Give or take a few pauses for breath on various hard shoulders it performed brilliantly on the way to a new home in France.

Future should be split between being tucked up under a cover and a few days ever couple of months spent drifting (in both senses of the driving word) through the countryside.

A bientot Engletere.
