Hi guys. I am a newbie on this forum. I have a problem with my 1995 Uno Fire 1108 (South African model) reverse gear. I have recently replaced the gearbox due to carrier bearings getting really noisy.( In SA it is cheaper to buy another box than to repair). I also replaced the clutch .The old box couldn't select reverse gear so I was hoping the replacement would be ok, but I am having the same problem. It is the box with cable selectors, and a few people have told me to change the cable for the reverse gear which should solve the problem. The problem is that the cable is hard to find and apparently expensive as well, so I don't want to waste money on it if it turns out not to be the problem. The gear lever does not move into position when I try to select reverse. It is almost as if something is blocking the travel of the lever, but I have checked for obstructions: All the other gears work perfectly so I don't see it being an internal box problem. Any advice would be appreciated.
