nearside mirror, in red

the eternal search for a proper red mirror housing has after 3 years drawn a blank, so i have to do the fiddly but doable task of taking my red one apart and putting in the mechanism from a working black one, one small problem, the control wires are held in place by a triangular washer type thing that has corroded away on ALL the mirrors i have, so as a result no way to fix the wires in place. and even better fiat dont sell it, only the entire unit (£50 + vat...no ta) any ideas anyone?

People, staff meeting has been cancelled. You all have one goal today: to get Vincent Chase’s brother, Johnny Chase, a job. Any job! I don’t care if it’s a porn shoot in which he is being gang raped by a gaggle of silverback apes, if there are cameras rolling, everybody wins. 10 grand for anyone that can deliver this to me, today.
