dodgy noise (again)

Hey guys

I think my car has a "whistling alternator". I think this involves the alternator bearings, but i am not sure as this is other people opionions. The noise does sound like a whistle and i dont think it is my drive belt as i have recently tightened it. If you could give me a idea of price to have this done or your opinions it would be great.

Cheers

Re: dodgy noise (again)

Hi there,

The best way to check is to take the fan belt off and start the car to see if the noise is still there.

Is it the FIRE engine in your car, if so then it's probably the timing belt tensioner bearing thats whining.

Hope this helps.

Regards Trevor.
