Hi all,

After driving my new Uno 1.4 for almost a month now, I've started to notice some problems. Here's a list

- Heater warms up nicely, engine does not (only till the first 2 stripes on the dash)
- Higher revs when idling and higher fuel consumption
-Exhaust has become black on the inside (at the rear), indication of running rich

My idea: Thermostat broken, staying in the open position, a.k.a. overcooling.

What's your idea guys? Am I overlooking something?

Thanks!

Luc

Higher revs a due to air leaks , take an alcohol spray to test.
Spray it on the cylinder head and revs will change if air leaks in.
The ECU will try to rearange air/ fuel level which may result in richer fuel.
Gauge plugs may corrode and you will have to measure engine temperature by an external thermometer .
