Hi there, This is my first post on Fiat Forum, but I've been looking at it for a while. About 3 weeks ago, I bought a Red F-Reg Fiat Uno 45 (Fire engine, 999cc) - my first car! It needs work on it yet, and I've got to do a few more thigns to get it ready for it's MOT.
The brakes are a bit spongy, and my dad reckons that the hydraulic system for the brakes has got some air in it - and the front pads where knackered anyway!
I've tried to get the bleed nipples open to bleed the brakes, but whoever did it last time had rounded the nuts on each side! I've had to get the dremel out and grind them down to some weird imperial (5/16?) size (the only socket that would have fitted). I need to get some new ones now, to replace the crappy old ones. No-one in my area seems to be able to get hold of them (leicester/northampton), does anyone know where I can get hold of some?

Any good motor factors should have them, around a pound each.

The Bleed screw are the same on most FIATS see post 14.

A track round the scrap yard and a look an a newer FIAT will see you right

i dont have the number for them anymore, but there was place in stockport called shaws where i ordered a shed load of mk1 uno brake parts for a 70sx i had, they had the lot in stock, discs calipers drum, master and slave cylinders, pads and shoes, and very reasonable to, i'll have to dig out the invoice later today and get you the number, well worth a try

Just to say thanks again guys, I found a place near mey (Corby, about 15 miles away), rang up, and they had the exact part in stock! Sorted out my Uno now, taxed and insured, and took it out for the first time on saturday - its a beast in a tin can
