Re: 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

What about an oil cooler too? I assume the turbo is connected into the oil system

Re: 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

An oil cooler is not necessary at this power level but would be a good addition if the engine is to see a lot of track time. An oil cooler is really expensive for what it is.

If I recall the Y10 1.0 Turbo was the OHV lump in the same family as the Uno’s 903 engine – so better to go for newer / tougher parts I guess.

Plenty of old Oil coolers to choose from for track days

Talking Re: 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

There are plenty of used turbos/intercoolers/oil coolers for sale if people don't want to buy off the scrappy. Eventually i'll place a page on my site with all the oem cars that have turbos of interest so people know what to look for at the scrappy. As i said before, it can be done for 625euros complete (400 euros was for the turbo)

Re: 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

I still have lots of work to do before any "real kits" are available, i can however provide some for those inclined to experiment as i am. I will never be able to provide any warranties except those with new parts because i won't be doing any installation, unless you live nearby and want me to fo it obviously.

Might you know where my standard MK2 Uno 999 IE FIRE red lines? I recently fitted SX clocks with tachometer. My manual suggested the proper rev counter for the 999 has a lower yellow and red line.

The MK1 carb uno I won off e-bay already has Turbo trim including the dash http://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/sho...ry.php?cat=635

£82 LOL.

Re: 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

The carb version does not have a limiter (max airflow at 6500-7200rpm depending on condition cam etc), i really don't know about the spi version because i never tested one yet. The factory rev counter is usually off a bit, and the 1l usually doesn't have one anyways.

You would need ventilated double discs at front. Rear drums are ok. The Ritmo Abarth has drums on rear axles, and huge ventilated double discs at the front. They just fit in 14" alloys. This should be enough to deal with at least 130 BHP.

He already has one running
See Fiat Panda 999cc FIRE turbo (carb)

I just called my Insurance Company; they couldn’t quote at this stage for a tripling of HP from my 999 FIRE .

Re: 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

reading the post for the panda i see that there is a lot of mod that you have to do i dont know if it worths it. the total mod including p&p from portugal will sum to around £1000!! so if we sell our current uno's and put the 1000 pound as well you end up easily with £1.300 pounds wich can buy us an uno turbo

Re: 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

It's cheap to get to the 100hp range (under 750 euros), from there it gets a bit more expensive, as i said the sweet spot is at 130hp or where the power to cost ratio increases a bit more. Without the turbo you can get the conversion done for ~300 euros then you get the turbo ff the scrappy or ebay or whatever. Here's the guy that surprised me with this price tag

http://smokeme.coconia.net/others%20...20projects.htm

I have the pics of his setup on a cd somewhere but haven't had the time to upload them yet.

The biggest problem is that power IS addictive and once you get a taste of what you can do you just want more!!!

My goal is to provide a complete low boost bolt-on kit for around 750 euros plus shipping (weighs ~30kgs), this will bolt on to a STOCK engine and get it to ~100hp "out of the box" (similar to VA low boost but cheaper price).

I will also offer a more expensive high boost version that will include an intercooler and forged pistons and that will get to 140hp+, i'm still working out the bugs on the high boost version though.
My kits will be offered for every fire engine (not including 780 until i find a lab rat to test ) that includes 999,1108, and 1242 8V. The first version to be offered is the 999cc, it won't matter if it's carb or SPI anymore because i've been able to find a better way to increase the fuel without rejetting the carb.

The version for the 999cc is almost ready, we're still making an installation manual (it's being done by a girl, including installation with no outside help!!). The whole thing can be installed in around 6hours without rushing, it's done with the engine still in the car. I'll post when it's ready , it's scheduled for the end of june.

You have the option of buying the parts on your own and followind the instructions on my site to install it, they're there just not accessable to the public yet!!
