Technical 999 Uno Turbo "FIRE"

I still have lots of work to do before any "real kits" are available, i can however provide some for those inclined to experiment as i am. I will never be able to provide any warranties except those with new parts because i won't be doing any installation, unless you live nearby and want me to fo it obviously.

Turbo(IHI RHF3)- factory limited to 7psi (wastegate has been modded to 6psi to be safe)power starts at 1800rpm and lasts all the way to my 6700rpm redline
:nutter: that sounds Mint

 Might you know where my standard MK2 Uno 999 IE FIRE red lines? I recently fitted SX clocks with tachometer. My manual suggested the proper rev counter for the 999 has a lower yellow and red line.

The MK1 carb uno I won off e-bay already has Turbo trim including the dash (y) https://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=635

The carb version does not have a limiter (max airflow at 6500-7200rpm depending on condition cam etc), i really don't know about the spi version because i never tested one yet. The factory rev counter is usually off a bit, and the 1l usually doesn't have one anyways.

Wonder if I would need rear disk brakes to deal with the extra speed?

You would need ventilated double discs at front. Rear drums are ok. The Ritmo Abarth has drums on rear axles, and huge ventilated double discs at the front. They just fit in 14" alloys. This should be enough to deal with at least 130 BHP.

So if i understood correctly you gonna make a turbo kit for a 999 fire engine right?
i am really intrested mate homw much is gonna cost me?

reading the post for the panda i see that there is a lot of mod that you have to do i dont know if it worths it. the total mod including p&p from portugal will sum to around £1000!! so if we sell our current uno's and put the 1000 pound as well you end up easily with £1.300 pounds wich can buy us an uno turbo

It's cheap to get to the 100hp range (under 750 euros), from there it gets a bit more expensive, as i said the sweet spot is at 130hp or where the power to cost ratio increases a bit more. Without the turbo you can get the conversion done for ~300 euros then you get the turbo ff the scrappy or ebay or whatever. Here's the guy that surprised me with this price tag:D

http://smokeme.coconia.net/others%20turbo%20fire%20projects.htm

I have the pics of his setup on a cd somewhere but haven't had the time to upload them yet.

The biggest problem is that power IS addictive and once you get a taste of what you can do you just want more!!!

My goal is to provide a complete low boost bolt-on kit for around 750 euros plus shipping (weighs ~30kgs), this will bolt on to a STOCK engine and get it to ~100hp "out of the box" (similar to VA low boost but cheaper price).

I will also offer a more expensive high boost version that will include an intercooler and forged pistons and that will get to 140hp+, i'm still working out the bugs on the high boost version though.
My kits will be offered for every fire engine (not including 780 until i find a lab rat to test:rolleyes: ) that includes 999,1108, and 1242 8V. The first version to be offered is the 999cc, it won't matter if it's carb or SPI anymore because i've been able to find a better way to increase the fuel without rejetting the carb.;)

The version for the 999cc is almost ready, we're still making an installation manual (it's being done by a girl, including installation with no outside help!!). The whole thing can be installed in around 6hours without rushing, it's done with the engine still in the car. I'll post when it's ready ;) , it's scheduled for the end of june.:D

You have the option of buying the parts on your own and followind the instructions on my site to install it, they're there just not accessable to the public yet!!:p

I so much want one:slayer:, pleeeese!!!! remind me in december when i have some money. Lisa deserves the power to go with the attitude:D:D. also ill galdly swap a 750 engine with low(ish) miles for a small discount. all hail the legend:worship:

I can't look at pictures like that, Chas!

I wonder what's happened to smokeme - I think the title was 'raving hardcore all night' before the donations/titles thing happened ;) - I liked the signature very much too. I drove a Thema V6 on a track once, and like he said, it was fun - but not what it was meant to do.

Digging up the past again :)

Right boys and girls

I have - in my posession - a GT15 turbocharger unit from a Vauxhall Frontera 2.2 sport.

It cost me £15 from a breakers and get this - I didn't even know you could use it on a FIRE engine!!!!!! I just bought it to look at!!!!!

I literally picked it out of a pile of turbochargers and inlet manifolds and what do you know - reading online and it turns out it's a must have for FIRE turbo upgrading.

Now I've already made enquires as to aqquiring a Y10 Turbo carb and I've been studying the website made my 'smokeme' or a name i have forgotten whilst typing - and the only thing that is concerning me is the question of an exhaust manifold that will combine FIRE engine exhaust ports and the turbo flange.

I intend to do this on a minimal budget so anybody got any manifold ideas or do i have to man up and get one custom made for a large wad of cash.
