Very Nice!

Say was Nissan making your Unos back in 1984 as I’ve read the MK1 Micra was a firstly denied copy of the Uno’s ground braking design. – sorry I can’t remember sauce.

Re: 1998 south african uno turbo

nah, we only got the uno in about 1990 or so, so it was straight away the mk2, and i dont think our little manufacturing plant in south africa has got much say in nissan's design rooms.

plus we only got the nissan micra for the first time last year.

and for some more motoring trivia, they stopped selling the uno turbo in south africa in 1998, but they only just stopped selling standard unos last year!

(and south africa still sells, as new, the vw golf mk 1, just with an updated interior, colour-coding etc, 27 or 28 years after it first came out)

Re: 1998 south african uno turbo

That’s a shame - Brazil are on the MK3 Uno now. – you get the Micra

Strange how VW still make the MK1

Re: 1998 south african uno turbo

Well, they don't because nobody can afford to. They should because technology has improved, the spear works, the gun is better....

I assume the original Mk1 had a bottom hinged accelerator so they simply didn't change it?

Re: 1998 south african uno turbo

why change it paul???

i agree about updating, but this is a case of "is gun #1 better than gun #2"

it does the job, and is just a less popular version of a normal accelorator pedal!

what are the advantages of paying $$$$$ to change something, that doesnt REALLY need it???

its only slightly different to use!

Ah but I still play records – not CD when I DJ

FIAT Made the Punto but I still drive an Uno

Not "every “step forward” is better LOL.

New records are more expensive these days.

Re: 1998 south african uno turbo

Well i was wondering if they changed it to that costing them money which I couldn't understand.

Louie, the reason why you use records is due to the specific sound it can make and the way you can do all your DJing stuff though isn't it? It has a specific style of sound but a CD is a more accurate representation of the music.
