| gear linkage adjustment Does anyone know anything (other than what's in haynes) on adjusting Uno gear linkage? -What,where and how do you adjust? I can't always get into 3rd gear or when I can it falls out. Had a similar problem on an Uno years ago and fixed it by changing the detent springs, but no luck this time.

| Classic Uno Obsessive | Re: gear linkage adjustment Hi 4paws, I don't think you can adjust the gear change linage rods at all on a Uno. You can change the plastic bushes, which I did last year on mine and it's a simple enough job. I have difficulty engaging 1st and 3rd gear on my 45S (5 speed box), sometimes 1st is impossible to engage with the engine running and the car at a stand still. Third can be awkward, and also 1st to 2nd can be hit or miss. Now the weather has warmed up I will change the gearbox oil and clutch cable (mk1's didn't use a hydraulic clutch), and maybe that will help. I would suggest with your car try a change of gearbox oil. I know it helped on my previous Uno. Chas
