But that's because I grew up in the 80's when all the young drivers would paint their rusty steel wheels in black Smoothrite. Ever since then I always equate black wheels with Smoothrite!!!! But it's probably me just showing my age.... Chas

Else it is just a big black hole and it is difficult to difference the tyre from the wheel (alloy) itself. They might get confused with 12"es. Heh... Morten, also too old for black wheels, but still not completely 30.
