Hi all,
i just came here after searching a lot about uno tuning and air filters.
I have a 1.1 ie Formula and after searching for air filters i found a Green (model P263) which is an induction kit for Uno 50 1.1ie '92-'93. I ordered it and i am waiting.
I wonder if anyone tried and if it has problems with the air feeding since it is on the top of engine.

Thanks

Welcome to The Forum!

Hi Geom,

Welcome to The Forum! :)Any pictures of your Uno in Athens?

;)I’ve done a quick search for you and found one or two. https://www.fiatforum.com/search.php?searchid=313211 are the results for searching Green+filter.

Morty Mort has a good post in https://www.fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=24389&highlight=filter thread regarding the Oil Breather filter.

 Please return and let us all know how the Green Filter performs, and tell us a bit more, in the mean time, enjoy Fiat Forum and spread the word.

Kind Regards,

Re: Welcome to The Forum!

Thanks for replying, i already searched the entire forum (i think) about filters and induction kits. No pictures yet, i 'll try to take some soon.
I am looking forward to try it, i hope it doesn't take a lot time to arrive.

Will try to post some pictures of mine. A custom made K&N kit. Easy to fit with some effort... Only works in high speeds due to cold air feed. High speed in an Uno is from 40 mph->. Do not expect any better acceleration from a red light.

But a "faster" engine sound... heh... :)

Morten.

I hope i ll find a way to feed it cold air, as for the sound i am waiting to hear it...
Although i think that on top of the engine near the windshield the air is colder or i am wrong ?

OK. Sorry for the delay. Had to go to Prague for some business. (And some pleasure as well...)

Well, here are some pictures of the K&N filters and some other pics at the same time. Was changing to summer tires, finally my Abarth 14" on Good Year Eagle Ventura was slipped on the hubs:

Air intake.

Air intake on inside. Sod the old intake - it's blocked anyway. Drill a new hole and attach the flexi hose with strips.

Let the hose rest 5 cm from the filter, to spread the cold air. Attach the hose with strips.

To make the Abarth alloys fit, spacers are used. Never leave home without WD40.

Just a picture of the insane interior...

Morten. Sorry again for the late reply.

Nice set up Morten!

The cam breather filter is all to often forgotten.

LOL how many zebra did you skin to re-trim the Uno Morten? Looks good:)

you know were the filter is bolted on, how big is that hole?? cheers.
The easiest way to find out is to remove the front part of air filter (1 clip each side, and one underneath), then the back part – (1 X 10MM bolt on top) and measure the air filter box's hole.

While you’re in there, check your own air filter, the inside of the air filter box and the condition of the throttle body. They should be well clean;)

Morten - nice pics!

Interesting set of wheels - the ones that look like Uno Turbo wheels, but are 14"? I think the Croma Turbo came with something similar?

I loved that phrase "sod the old intake, it's blocked anyway". I wonder where you learned that English, not here, surely :)

What's that dodgy red wire... should it be draped all over the engine bay?!

Nice spacers. I think they might be illegal here if they have studs attached to the spacer only - or do you use extra-long bolts right through them?

Finally, I really like that Dalmatians interior complete with mini 'racing seat' on top of the standard seat - I think you must have one accessory that I don't have and won't be getting for a while ;)

These incredibly little worn alloys come from our other Fiat - the Ritmo TC130 Abarth, shown below. They are 14" and on the Uno the tires get a low profile.

The dodgy wire is of great importance for the Phoenix Gold amp mounted under the passenger seat. It's got an in-line fuse right next to the battery, and goes through the "torpedo wall" as it is called in Norway - the wall separating the driver from the engine. Don't remember the English word... See amp below, a nice one delivering 125x2 REAL watts in 4 ohms load. Right now it is bridged to the insane 350 - yes RMS watts mono in a 4 ohm load. See picture below:

You can see the long bolt on top of the hub right to the can o' WD40. Spacers are illegal here as well, but I presented it to the "street department" - the ones who have technical controls of cars etc. and have the power to take the decision wether the car is legal or not. They said OK, due to the axle width was not increased. Also the spacer is ordered specifically for Fiat, and is bolted on through one of the wheel locating pigots thingy - before the wheel itself is bolted on. The spacer also provides a hub extension. This made it legal: Known brand, bolted to the hub with hub extension, not exceeding the axle's tracking widh (measured from centre tyre to centre tyre on the same axle).

This accessory aslo comes as a bundle: A female and lack of time... :)

Finally the Green filter came and installed. Take a look at https://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=9533.
The noise is nice and not too loud at about 2500-3500 RPMs. Also i think that it had a little change in torque.

Get yourself a cold air feed sorted and you will get a little more power :) At the moment you're pulling in warm air from the top of the engine bay - get some metal tubing (quite round) and set up a cold air feed from the bottom of the bay near the gearbox where the air is forced in. That or go for a small bonnet vent where the filter is...

I know, for the moment (after taking the protos) i put the old tube which was connected to the old box to bring some cold air.

I wonder about the tube from the gearbox low side because i dont want to get any water in it.

I have one more question, does it really need to spray the filter with oil ?
When i did it i noticed that the sound changed a little.

Ok, the instructions say that. I was just wondering what exactly it does.

Thanks
