welded up the other side... some much better welds on this side but its still a tad poo due to the gasless wire... i really need to spend the money dont have and convert my welder... im sure ill thank myself for it down the line...

i then found a small box of p clips so i started guiding the wiring loom and boot cables but ran out of them pretty quick... so ill need to get some more and finish the job...

Nice work!
I know that desperate feeling of finding large rust holes, which were in the same location in my Uno Turbo. With the carpet removed, I had a strange raining-inside-the-car effect when driving in the wet conditions typical of these parts.

I presume you've managed to seal the underside of the repairs ;)

lol yeh got underneath... was some very good penetration on the welds for once which im pleased about:p currently red oxided it... but i shall then coat in hamerite and then underseal the arches and may as well waxoil the whole of the underneith whilst im under there as well...

i had the rain effect as well! sort of a weird horizontal rain against the back of your head? lol

Chris

the repair to the arches was free and only took about 20 mins a side... im a keen welder so its not a problem...

one of the previous owners has attempted to repair the sills but the rot has just come through and now both sides are pretty goosed... i cant justify the effort any more, so im just ditching it and getting a cheap cinq ive found... so ill still float around the fiat forum...

one of the wishbones has also gone and it knocking pretty bad... the car is scary to drive on the motorway...

Not necessarily Lewey, my idea of getting rid is selling on...

Theres only 13 Mk2 SX`s left... :(

I agree, but any non-turbo Mk2 Uno with bad rust is worth more in scrap than on the open market. Unless he had someone to offload to for next to nothing, scrapping is the best bet financially and quickest to sort out. These are the facts, not necessarily my opinion.

We´re lucky to have a Swiss guy in our German forum.
He supplies us with god stuff. I got a shifter linkage from him that are made of stainless steel:

Currently he is building stainless steel exhaust systems in 60 mm, alsofor my Turbo:slayer:
Uno´s are getting rare here to . The scraping bonus program of our government has wiped a lot from the street s too. The only good thing is that nowadays having one is quite exclusive

That's sexy! I need a linkage for my mk1 70SX, 'top shift' I think. Is this it, can I get one?

captainbland08 who started this thread aka Chris Russell of Rhos-on-Sea, has neat rose joint linkage pics about June in this thread. Unfortunately can't discuss with the bugger because he took my £25 for ARB off his Uno breaker but never sent it, no answer to emails, has done same twice to others
