ECU problem ?

Dear Unoer's

I have a problem again with my Uno Selecta (1372 cc, SPI). Petrol doesn't come from Injector, but I found fuel Pump in proper condition.

As I checked the Injector Relay, It only gave several mili volt to Injector Solenoid, so engine will start or running only a second than stop. Garage man tried to replace ECU than problem solved.

the question is : will ECU have a problem of software or hardware ? how to repair ? or is it repairable ? please help.

My best regards for all Uno lover,

Hendro. N

Re: ECU problem ?

Very good question!
I don't know anything about ECU. Modern ecu are very very complex, but Fiat Uno ECU are easier!
Probably your ecu had a stupid problem (it's common that output power transistor fail after years of usage... so it's possible that your output stage was bad. It' d be interesting to check some polarizing voltages in transistors of your ecu. But garage men don't know how to do this:they change ALL the ECU... it's easier, faster and economically better for them!!!)
Also, I can't say anything about that ECU's software...

Re: ECU problem ?

Dear Andre,

Thank you for your reply. I happened to be informed that similar problem occur to several Peugeot car. Usually Power Transistor for Injector Output damaged, so Output from CPU come to Base of Transistor, but no current output come from Emitter to Injector Solenoid.

I really have no idea about the software. A special Uno garage told me they had no FIAT diagnostic computer, so It is a little bit difficult to search problem in Uno Selecta and Uno Turbo both software and hardware.

Anyway, thank you for supporting me, let me know if any website has good information about Software and Hardware of Uno's ECU.

best regards,

Hendro. N
