Wheels & their sizes

i went out and checked my tire size on my current wheels today - 135/80/r13. A little wierd i thought - they're the standard steel crappa wheels.

Anyone know the proper tyre size? I thought they were in the 175/60/r13 region like the UT

Re: Wheels & their sizes

Hey luke Im afraid that those are the standard size for the Uno FIRE or basic one such as ours( In basic I mean the non-Uno Turbo). They're not too grippy that is for sure but sure are good for fuel economy. Me changed mine a while ago to 185/55 R14 and I must say that handling as well as looks have improved!!

Re: Wheels & their sizes

Cheers for clearing that up D - just thought it was a wierd size, and my spare is a different size to the rest But if its normal, thats ok by me. I just didnt want my speedo to be out cos of the wrong size tyres.

Oh well, i shall wait for my UT project then

Terrible?!?!?! Thats the best bit!!! lol. Get some Nankangs in that size. Lots of fun! They are like skates when they are wet. I remember when I had them on my old wheels, I used to hold people up on major hogh speed roundabouts cuz my car wouldn't grip in the wet.

Mine are probably worse than Nankangs - super cheepo ones from the local tyre shop!

Theres a great corner near where my GF lives, in the wet you never make it, no matter how slow cos the camber works seriously against you. But when its just damp, great fun!

Re: Wheels & their sizes

I remember on my Cinq SX, it had four nearly new tyres on it and they were branded "Road Hog". Had a really cool pattern but the compound was ****. Was worse than Nankangs by a mile. I worked out how they got their name when they wanted the whole width of the road on corners!

PMSL!
now had the car been RWD, it would be a totally different story (lack of grip being a bad thing)

Re: Wheels & their sizes

iteased a bloke at some traffic lights the other day. he was in a 318i and I eased off after about 50yds and let him tear away cuz at the long sweeping bend ahead, as predicted, his back end stepped out and he took out about 50yds of cones which were closing a sliproad. lol. Found it highly hilarious and I let him know with a stupid grin when he pulled up alongside at the next set of lights after I cruised up to them nicely at 30mph.
