Electrical problems

Got a problem with my uno. There seems to be a problem with the electrical system, I think theres a short circuit somewhere cause some things aren't working and the battery light is burning.
The rearwindow heating system is not working (indicator burns)
The rear wiper is not working (There is voltage on it, and I replaced the motor)
The light behind the center panel is not working.
And the oddest problem is, when I turn on the headlights, there are two indicator lights burning instead of one.

The fuse box is checked already aswell.

If someone knows what can cause this problems, casue I'm desperate.

Re: Electrical problems

Have you checked the contacts are all clean on the rear panel in the boot. If they arent working properly then that would cause some of those problems...

Also, check all the grounding points on the car arent corroded. The main one that usually does is in the engine bay under the battery. Theres also one in the boot on the passenger side near the light.

I had similar problems with my uno when i first got it. If i put on the headlights then pressed the brakes, all the electrics would cut off. Same for indicators etc. All i did was took off all the grounding points, cleaned the terminals and bolted them all back down again tightly. Problem solved.

However, there does sound like theres a short too. Was there anything that you did to the car to make this happen, or did it just suddenly do it?

Re: Electrical problems

All the problems were there when I got the car. All contacts have been cleaned a few weeks ago.
Someone in fiat uno club holland said it could be a ground point under the steering wheel cover. I think ill just get the whole dashboard off and search for short circuits and corrosion.
