I am not sure about the thread prefix here. It should probably be technical rather than general. Advice?
I serviced the Uno over on Saturday and did the flush trick with cheap oil. While waiting for the minute to elapse the engine stopped, and I could not start it again. I completed the service (fuel filter, spark plugs[1.0 mm gap], air filter, oil and oil filter), and then tried to find the answer to the non-starting.
Checked the spark first by removing a spark plug (no 1, next to the cambelt cover), earthed it on the block and saw a blue spark, so it was not the electric part.
Next I checked the fuel flow through the new filter and observed no flow. Clue 1. Then I removed the outflow pipe from the fuel pump to the carburetor and again observed no fuel flow while cranking the engine. Clue 2.
So this morning I bought a new fuel pump (R300) and replaced the old one and the car starts.
