our indicators have started going nuts. occasionally work very intermittently, but seem to be driving around with no indicators at all (or hazards) so think probably ought to sort. anyone else had this? just the relay? the relay is dangling from the wires in the passenger footwell at the moment (as it has always been). Looked in Haynes, bloody useless!

Hiya Katie. Not sure on the set-up with the Uno, but I know with the Classic Panda's, the indicators are fed through the hazzard light switch. No hazzard light switch, then no indicators. I'm not sure if its the same on the Uno, but if it is, I'd start somewhere around the hazzard light switch.

All the best.

Jon.

Hi Katie,

Are we talking about a 'Mk1' Uno (one stalk on column) or a 'Mk2' Uno (three stalks on column for lights, indicators, and wipers?)

The Mk1 has the flasher relay mounted to the bracket of the stalk switch, on the steering column. Sometimes the relay works loose and falls out - remove the covers around the steering column, put the relay back in, and use a bit of hot-melt glue to prevent it falling out again (y)

The Mk2 - well, if that is indeed the flasher unit dangling around in the footwell, then that sounds like a good place to start - assume it's making bad contact?

Are both the indiciators problematic, or just the one?

My left side occasionally double-time clicks, due to a slightly dodgy connector on the indicator lead. Just need to clean it up with some sandpaper and it'll be fine.

As MEP says, the hazard is the usual suspect, my tempra occasionally looses its indicators but a quick flick on the hazzard switch cures it instantly.

As a few other people have said, the flasher unit should be on the fuse box under the horn relay (amazing why Fiat felt it necissary to fit a horn relay but not fit relays in the headlight circuits eh?).

If its hanging over the fuse box then maybe theres an issue that someones had a go at before.

Has someone got a spare hazzard switch they could send Katie?
